Editor's review

Does not matter if you are pianist, guitar player, and bassist or into some other musical instruments, every musician knows, and ought to know how important it is for them to have a good listening capability. And by good listening capability, we mean the ability to transcribe a song only by listening to it. However, for many aspiring musicians who are still undergoing the learning phase, it might not be possible to master that skill right away as it definitely requires years of practice and devotion. To help such users out in learning and playing the chords of ANY given song, the developers at Luxand Development have come up with a unique and highly practical application dubbed Chord Pickout 2.0. Barely a few months in the market, and this software already managed to pocket plenty of applauds from all around for its unique ability.

As the name suggests, Chord Pickout 2.0 has been designed with sole view of allowing musicians to learn the chords that a given song is comprised of. The interface of the program is pretty simple, and eye-catchy. The main menu is located towards the top of the window and that is where all the options and controls are distinctly mentioned. However complicated might be the structure of a given song, Chord Pick 2.0 analyses it instantly and transcribe the same for you without making you wait for too long. And the results are fairly accurate too, with the chords detected by the program being almost or fully identical to the ones originally used in the given song. And the best part- the software is available at a pretty pocket friendly price range.

Owing to ease of use and a unique offering aimed at the musician community, this program truly deserves a score of four rating points on the scale of five.

Publisher's description

A friend of mine has perfect pitch. He is a professional guitarist. The only instrument he needs to guess chords for a song is his own ear. He can listen to a song and easily pick out the right chords or even make a better arrangement than those he listened to.
But, what about the rest of us, who don't have this gift? There are hundreds of new songs produced every month. Sometimes scores for current songs are hard to find. But, you need them now, when they are popular and not a year later.
This is where Chord Pickout can help. This program uses its artificial intelligence to guess chords for you. All you have to do is to load a media file (wav or mp3) and click a button. Chord Pickout will transcribe the music and write down the recognized chords. The process is fully automated.
While most of its competitors use simple patterns to recognize chords, Chord Pickout applies complex math and shows outstanding results even in the toughest cases. You will receive chord notations that are very close to those by the song's author.
This program will became a must-have tool for those who want to play the hottest and most popular songs on a guitar, piano or other musical instrument.
No need to wait for published scores, no need to spend your precious time trying to find the right chords. Just load an audio file and you've got the chords. It's that easy!

This is the greatest concept I have seen to convert MP3 files to Guitar cords except one thing. It is not very accurate. Most musicians would benifit form this at any price if it were redesigned to be more accurate. I will keep watching for newer versions.
Not a single chord is correct on two simple songs I loaded. Worthless program at best!
Ha it cannot even find the root chord of the song.. Rest of the chords found by it are also horrible. I tried with Iron maiden`s Fear of the dark.. It showed Gm which i think doesn`t exist in the song.. I tried with Tiamat`s too far gone .. there also I found some peculiar combinations.. I didnot want to give a single star but I had no other option left with me..
